For decades, surfboard design has been shaped by tradition, and rightfully so. That legacy brought us here. But like Andy Irons changed the way we understand surfing, we believe it’s time to push board design into a new era. Honoring the past, building what comes next.
GURA started with one obsession: pushing board performance hydrodinamics to the limit in big waves by merging passion with science.
It all began at home, with minimal tools and maximum curiosity, when four friends, united by surf and innovation, decided to challenge the status quo.
Today, that handcrafted spirit is still at our core, now elevated by engineering, precision, and legendary waves.

Surfboards were born from instinct. We’re here to evolve that instinct with engeeniering, analysis and performance testing.
We use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to test each design in multiple wave conditions before any board is built.
This allows us to dial in hydrodynamics with scientific precision, every curve, rail, and rocker is data-backed.

We use the highest-quality blanks available, because performance begins at the core.
Our highest-end boards are layered with basalt fiber, a volcanic rock-based material that outperforms traditional fiberglass, delivering better flex, stronger durability, and more responsive surfing.
And throughout production, the technical blueprint stays in view, ensuring that every board matches the original design down to the millimeter.
